Historic Horseracing
Photos is located in Glens Falls New York at the base of
the Adirondack Mountains. We are
approximately 150 furlongs from Historic Saratoga Race
Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. This is an area
which is steeped in horse racing history.
Amateur
aficionados of both local history and thoroughbred
horseracing, we have combined our affinities for both of
these part-time avocations into one venture: the
promotion and preservation of local horseracing history,
specifically focusing on the once great Hurricana Stock
Farm, later named Sanford Stud Farm, located in nearby
Amsterdam, New York.
It is our intention to provide authentic and accurate
information and offerings about Hurricana and the
significant role it played in the early days of
thoroughbred horseracing in Upstate New York during the
late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Do you have a group or club that might
be interested in learning more about historic
horseracing? HHRP would be happy to provide a guest
speaker at your next event. Presentations are
usually a minimum 30 minutes but can be customized for
